Client: Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency (SCCWWA)
Role: Lead Creative Partner & Brand Strategist
Timeline: 2022 – 2023
Executive Summary
The Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency (SCCWWA) is responsible for a critical $155M sewer expansion project in the fastest-growing county in Nebraska. Despite the project's massive economic scale, the Agency lacked a professional identity to communicate its value to the public and potential investors. I was retained to build the Agency’s brand from the ground up—transforming a technical infrastructure necessity into a compelling narrative for community growth.
The Strategy: Storytelling Through Infrastructure
To incentivize funding and secure public backing, I implemented a multi-phase strategic rollout that moved the project from engineering plans to a community vision:
Brand Identity Development: Created the primary Agency logo and project-specific branding, establishing a professional look and feel that commands authority with state and local leaders.
Narrative Video Production: Produced a series of professional interview-based videos featuring board members and local stakeholders to highlight the project's human impact and economic ROI.
Digital Hub Creation: Designed and launched a modern website and six social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube) to serve as the centralized source of truth for project updates.
Targeted Content Engine: Executed a high-frequency content strategy, including keyword-rich blogs and social posts designed to educate the public on how the $155M expansion directly affects the Omaha Metro.
The Deliverables
I provided the Agency with a complete toolkit for long-term stakeholder communication:
Comprehensive Brand Guide: Established typography, color theory, and organizational voice.
Social Media Infrastructure: Built and managed accounts across all major platforms to ensure daily public transparency.
Professional Media Library: Created high-fidelity video content for use in board presentations and funding requests.
Strategic Roadmaps: Provided monthly reporting and content calendars to maintain a consistent message across the 2-year project lifecycle.
The Impact
From Technical to Recognizable: Successfully transitioned SCCWWA from a body of interlocal agreements into a recognizable public-facing brand.
Stakeholder Alignment: Equipped the Agency Board with professional assets to communicate the project's necessity to political and financial decision-makers.
Engagement Growth: Established a digital presence where none previously existed, allowing for direct community interaction and education.
